Relocating with your children is a very complex issue in child custody and divorce cases that involve custody determinations. Unless there is some sort of extreme emergency or need, it’s not advisable to move out of state without first seeking permission from the other parent or obtaining a court order that allows you to do so.
In certain cases, moving out of state without permission could even be considered parental kidnapping. It’s best to consult with an experienced family law attorney, identify moving out of state as one of your goals, and then work to achieve that goal through the proper legal processes.
