Typically, courts do not order parents to pay for higher education or private school. Parents are legally required to provide support until a child turns 18, graduates from high school, or meets other statutory requirements. However, unless there is an agreement between the parents that the court can enforce, the court usually will not require a parent to pay for college tuition.
