Spousal support agreements can be tricky, and you have to be very careful about the language you use. You might inadvertently commit yourself to paying for a longer period than intended, or you could make the amount non-modifiable unintentionally.

It’s definitely possible to make the amount non-modifiable if that is your intent. To do so, you need to insert specific language into the agreement. As long as the agreement is legal, the court will typically approve it. If you choose to have a non-modifiable amount of support, that’s not a problem—you’re free to settle your case that way.
