Per one news source: “Gere – wearing meditation beads on his left wrist and carrying an orange canvas bag… nastily wielded the pointy black umbrella like a sword.” Another report from the Huffington Post said that Gere managed to use the topsy-turvy emotions from the divorce to inspire his performance in his latest film, “Time Out of Mind,” in which he plays a homeless man struggling to survive on New York streets. He told the Lincoln Center’s Film Society “what probably really helped me was that I was right in the middle of a divorce…the emotions were right on the surface.”
